    • Road Traffic Accidents
      Many accidents involving animals occur on the moorland roads due often to excessive speed. At a meeting with the National Park Authority, we suggested 40 mph zones implemented by speed monitors which reminded drivers when they exceed this and we are very pleased that this is now in operation and available when needed.

    • Don't Feed The Ponies
      Eye-catching yellow signs were erected by the National Park this spring in honey-pot area car parks warning the general public not to feed the ponies. As we have frequently said in the past, feeding the ponies attracts them to cars and to the road and accidents are more likely to occur as a result.
    • Kill a pony? - Rubbish! But it can
      Lawn mowings, hedge prunings and garden waste are all LETHAL
      Dumped garden waste is a serious problem on several Commons and must be stopped in order to safeguard animals. The following notice was distributed by Roborough Commoners after a foal was poisoned.

TRAGIC ACCIDENT
A very young foal was recently poisoned as a result of eating garden refuse that had been dumped on the common. Please exercise caution when considering disposal of seemingly innocent bio-destructible waste.
